Today it is essential to understand people’s needs and behaviors in order to design a solution that is adapted to them. User research tools such as observation and interviews are a great way to discover these learnings but they can sometimes be challenging to unfold and to communicate.
We’ll start by introducing user research synthesis and discuss how to reach the right type of insights. We’ll then look at personas and practice how to create some examples to represent a group of users. Using these personas we’ll explore visual mapping tools such as user journeys or experience maps and practice how to complete them. We’ll finish by identifying pain points in the experience and framing design opportunities to address them.
