Lecture: "Behavioral Design for Social Impact"
Alexandra and Adam will share an introduction to GRID Impact’s behavioral research and design process and recent work designing products and services for people living in poverty.

Alexandra Fiorillo
Director of GRID Impact and Senior Consultant to CGAP / World Bank, Alexandra is a behavioral science and human-centered design specialist. She has over 15 years of experience in designing products, services and policies that benefit the Base of the Pyramid.

Alexandra’s areas of expertise are in digital financial services for the poor, financial education, and training and facilitation. Alexandra worked in over 40 countries on five continents, completed over 50 trainings on subjects as human-centered product and service design.

Alexandra was a Fulbright Scholar in Ecuador and co-founded Pockets of Change, a foundation committed to leveraging small grants for large impact. She earned her Master’s in Development Economics from Columbia University and holds Bachelor of Arts degrees in Economics and Latin American studies from Connecticut College.

Working internationally, Adam collaborates with mission-driven organizations that are addressing people’s everyday needs through meaningful applications of technology.

He has worked in the areas of alternative energy, financial inclusion and global health across more than 10 countries including Bangladesh, India, Mozambique, Niger, Pakistan, Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia.

Adam is currently visiting faculty at the Copenhagen Institute of Interaction Design.
